Are you thinking of adding a new furry member to your family? We would strongly encourage you to adopt a rescue pet. There are millions of amazing animals out there looking for their fur-ever home. These are 5 reasons why you should definitely adopt:

  1. You are saving a life and giving a pet a second chance at happiness

These animals deserve all the love and affection they may not have experienced in the chapter of their lives. We have a feeling the love and happiness will be mutual.

  1. Less expensive than fancy breeders

Many adoption agencies include vaccinations, microchips and spaying/neutering in the adoption fee! This means you can spend more money on fun toys and treats when you spoil your new adopted pet.

  1. Great pet personalities

We bet that if you go to an adoption shelter, there will be many animals that tug at your heartstrings with their unique personalities. Quiet ones, loud ones, cute ones, chill ones, the list goes on. You get to meet them and figure out which one you have a connection with. Lots of smiles and laughs guaranteed.

  1. Housetrained

Many times pets are given up for adoption because their first owners move, have children, or don’t have time to take care of them anymore. This means many are already house trained! No messes in their new house. Everyone’s happy!

  1. That “look”

For anyone who has owned a rescue, there’s a special connection and bond that you form with your pet. Experiencing moments where your dog or cat is saying “thank you” in their own special way, makes it worth it a million times over. You may have rescued them, but sometimes they rescue you right back.
